Fitting honour as sports centre renamed

Justice was done when a sports centre in El Rosario was named in memory of a successful Canary wrestler and athlete.

So said the Mayor, Macario Benítez Gil when the Llano del Moro facilities were officially renamed “Emeterio Gil Cruz”.

Relatives were present at the ceremony to honour the athlete who excelled in various disciplines, including football, bowls and petang but particularly in Canary wrestling [...]
